Peak Advisor Career Candidate: Mitchell Byrum

June 10, 2015 by

MitchellByrum1

Recently, Mitchell Byrum ’17 represented the Texas A&M Financial Planning Program at the 2015 Peak Advisor Alliance Excell Conference. The conference provides participants with the opportunity to engage with other advisors, learn new ways to be successful and gain tools to further grow their practice.

Attending as a Career Candidate, Byrum received first-hand experience on how to run a financial planning firm and participated in several networking opportunities, he said.

One opportunity involved speaking at the Million Dollar Producer Session. This allowed candidates to share their story and network with more than 700 advisors in attendance. To make the experience more personable, each candidate was paired with an advisor.

“I especially enjoyed the one-on-one time with my coach and their clients,” Byrum said. “They gave me advice about being a young advisor.”

This once in a lifetime experience was made possible by the Career Candidate Scholarship, Byrum said. The scholarship, supported by Peak Advisor Alliance, aims to connect students with a career in financial planning. This year, five students — representing universities across the nation — were selected to attend.

Join us in congratulating Mitchell on this great accomplishment.
