Texas A&M Students Compete in the FAStech Cup Showcase

February 23, 2015 by

Recently, Texas A&M agricultural economics students Mariel Braun, Mitchell Bryum, and Steven Chambers attended the Technology Tools for Today Enterprise, commonly referred to as T3, Conference in Dallas, Texas.

According to the T3 website, the conference is, “the place broker-dealers and financial enterprises will discover technology solutions for their business.”

“The T3 MoneyGuide Pro competition was both highly educational and exciting,” Chambers said. “Learning about industry anamolies and the potential impact my generation can have on financial planning further sparked my interest in the profession.”

During the conference, Braun, Byrum, and Chambers competed in the quiz bowl competition.  Texas A&M was represented well amongst stiff competition, with the trio placing third overall.

“The competition alone was a great experience because of the work put into it and the knowledge gained,” Byrum said.

“Competing with schools from around the country was a great experience and I was very proud to represent Texas A&M,” Chambers said.

Along with the quiz bowl competition, Braun, Byrum, and Chambers developed a mock RIA firm, Wisdom and Wealth Financials, complete with a client login and video blog series.  View the Wisdom and Wealth website here, http://mbraun301.wix.com/wealthandwisdom.

“Our trip was incredible,” Byrum said. “I know that I learned just as much, if not more, in those three days as I would have in any classroom.
