Getting involved with the program through networking events, student organization meetings, and interview days are some of the best ways to set yourself up for success.

All opportunities listed below are available to students currently enrolled at Texas AM University in a degree-seeking program. Announcements about these opportunities are shared with students via email.

Financial Planning Career & Education Conference

Students in the minor are invited to attend the annual Financial Planning Career & Education Conference, held each October in College Station. Our program hosts this  event, and it is an excellent way to network with fellow students, former students, and industry professionals.

CAREER FAIR
Students looking for a full-time job or internship opportunity are invited to attend the Career Fair portion of our conference.

STUDENT SHOWCASE PRESENTATIONS
The showcase event is specifically designed to help students grow in their presentation abilities and engage with industry professionals through mentorship.  We provide a financial planning case and solution in advance. Students select one area within the case (investments, retirement, education, estate, or taxation) and present a 12-minute summary. Students do not need an internship experience or previously completed coursework to participate. This is an excellent way to stand out to potential employers!

Financial Planning Student Association

All students are invited to attend the Financial Planning Student Association (FPSA) meetings. This is a student-led organization dedicated to developing future leaders in the financial planning profession.

Students actively involved with FPSA are encouraged to submit updated résumés at the end of September to be included in our annual résumé books. This is a great way to make an impression on companies looking to hire for full-time and internship positions.

Financial Planning Ambassador Program

This exclusive program is designed to cultivate future leaders in financial planning through character development, emotional intelligence, experiential learning, innovative creation, and lifelong friendship.

Students selected to participate in this program have access to private leadership and networking events that prepares them for navigating job interviews and entry into the profession.

National Conference Opportunities

Professional industry organizations routinely invite our students to attend conferences, participate in career day events, and compete on national case study teams.

Scholarships

Through generous gifts from former students and our Founder’s Club members, we are honored to recognize outstanding students in our minor program. Scholarship applications open in mid-January and recipients are recognized at the annual Financial Planning Career & Education Conference.

At this time, scholarships are only available to students enrolled at Texas A&M University as an undergraduate student.

Job & Internship Opportunities

Announcements about full time employment and internship opportunities are shared with our students via email.
