Financial Planning Conference

We are so excited to host the 2023 Financial Planning Career & Education Conference!
Please join us for our signature event and help us build the future of financial planning.

Overview of Events for Students

9:00 AM – NOON | Career Fair
If you are seeking an internship or full-time position for wealth management, financial planning, financial analyst, or financial advising, then this will be the best opportunity for you to connect with companies looking to hire. We have a wide range of companies participating this year, so be sure to check out the list below and do your research ahead of time.

The 9:00-10:00AM hour is reserved for students who are currently enrolled in financial planning courses, active in the Financial Planning Student Association, and/or currently enrolled in the Financial Planning minor and major. All majors and all classifications are invited to attend from 10:00AM – Noon.

Noon – 1:00 PM | Lunch (ticketed event)
Attendees who register for the lunch are invited to network with industry professionals and event sponsors before we move into the afternoon events. This is a ticketed event, so if you wish to join us for lunch, please register for Option 2 below. 

1:00 – 3:00 PM | Student Showcase Presentations
This new element of our event is designed to help students grow in their presentation skills while engaging with industry professionals. Students receive credit towards the Capstone course and have the opportunity to win scholarship dollars. If you are interested in participating, please contact us at financialplanning@tamu.edu.

3:30 – 4:30PM | TEDx Style Talks
A long-time crowd favorite, this session features a blend of recent former students, seasoned industry professionals, and industry experts who share insightful messages with our audience.

4:30 – 5:30PM | Networking & Welcome Reception (ticketed event)
Attendees are invited to network and enjoy light hors d’oeuvres before we move into the evening events.

6:00 – 8:00 PM | Student Recognition & Awards Banquet (Registration required, limited ticketed event)
Come help us wrap-up the day and celebrate our outstanding students while networking with industry professionals and program supporters. Scholarship winners will be recognized and outstanding former students will be celebrated for their achievements. This is a ticketed event, so if you wish to join us, please register for Option 2 below.

Registration

Option 1: Career Fair Only
Everyone is invited to attend the Career Fair from 10AM – NOON. Meals are NOT included with this option. If you plan to attend lunch or the seated banquet dinner, we request that you register for Option 2 so we have an accurate headcount for food. Registration is not required if you only want to attend the Career Fair, but if you register, you will receive an official event name badge.

Option 2: Career Fair + All Conference Access & Meals
In addition to Career Fair access, if you choose to attend the afternoon sessions, you will receive one ticket to the Networking Lunch, Student Showcase Presentations, TEDx Style Talks, Welcome Reception, and Awards Banquet. We need an accurate headcount for food, so please indicate on the registration form which meal events you plan to attend. Option 2 is only available to students currently enrolled at Texas A&M University.

Location

Thursday, October 19: Annenberg Presidential Conference Center
All events on Thursday will take place at the Annenberg Presidential Conference Center, located on the Texas A&M University campus in College Station, Texas.

Friday, October 20: Texas A&M Career Center
If you receive an invitation to interview with sponsoring companies on Friday, all interview sessions will take place at the Texas A&M Career Center.

How do I participate in the Career Fair?

Bring copies of your résumé and practice your elevator pitch ahead of time. Be prepared to introduce yourself to the participating companies and explain why you are interested in financial planning.


What is the dress code for the conference?

Business professional attire is recommended for all events (Career Fair, afternoon sessions, Networking Reception and Awards Banquet).


What meals will be provided?

For students who registered and selected Option 2, lunch will be provided between 11AM and Noon. A plated dinner will be provided at the Awards Banquet.


Where can I park?

If you currently have a TAMU parking pass, you can park in Fan Field or Lot 43. Please DO NOT park Lot 41. Anyone parking in Lot 41 runs the risk of being towed.
