Financial Planning students attend TD LINC Conference

February 10, 2017 by jeanie_long

Paul Schuder and Sidney Avila at TD Ameritrade LINC Conference

Paul Schuder ’18 and Sidney Avila ’17 traveled to San Diego, Calif. to attend TD Ameritrade’s National Linc Conference.

Held Feb. 1-4, the conference brought together industry professionals to learn, be inspired, network and collaborate. Students who are enrolled in financial planning coursework at universities across the U.S. are invited to attend the annual conference.

“The opportunity to attend TD LINC was incredible,” said Schuder, a junior Agricultural Economics major from Fort Worth, Texas. “This was a great experience for me. I learned so much about the business side of financial planning and met some great students from other universities.”

Networking with financial advisors throughout the event and asking them questions about their  practice, discussing innovative ideas, and learning about issues facing the industry was a highlight for many of the students. In addition to participating in many of the educational sessions, students were given opportunities to interact with their peers from other universities and exchange ideas.

“TD LINC 2017 was probably the most beneficial event in my undergrad career,” said Avila, a senior Finance major from Dalhart, Texas. “It was so refreshing to meet other students who have the same passion for Financial Planning and will one day be our cohorts in the industry, as well as meeting practicing professionals who will one day be our mentors.”
