How to register for Fall 2025 Courses:
Each course has an individual registration link and those links are provided below. If you are registering for multiple courses, you will click each individual link, add the course(s) to your cart, and then checkout. Links open in a new window.
The course registration system will automatically place you into the course, but you will not see content until the first day of class. The username and password selected during the course registration process will be the same credentials you use to access the course.
Course Access
You will access the course through https://tamu.instructure.com. Content will be made available to you on the first day of class.
Withdrawal & Refund Schedule
- On or before August 31: 90%
- After August 31 and on/before September 28: 60%
- After September 28 and on/before November 2: 30%
- After November 2: No refund
To initiate the withdrawal process, please contact us directly via email – financialplanning@tamu.edu. The system does not automatically process refunds, nor does it notify us when you withdraw from a course. Refunds can only be issued manually through our office.

FPCC 435 Financial Planning Fundamentals
This course provides a comprehensive overview of financial planning from a professional perspective. Topics covered include financial analysis, budgeting, credit management, time value of money, investment strategies, income taxes, risk management, retirement, and estate planning.

FPCC 437 Tax Planning for Professionals
This course applies the principles of income tax planning to enhance household income after taxes. Emphasis is placed on understanding tax laws, concepts, and rules, as well as opportunities for planning. Students will learn how to identify and implement useful tax planning strategies while focusing on practical application for tax professionals and financial planners.

FPCC 438 Investment & Portfolio Management
In this course, you will learn how to manage your investment portfolio as well as develop successful investment programs for personal investors and financial planners using financial planning software. Other topics include attributes of various asset classes, asset allocation and selecting securities.

FPCC 439 Retirement Planning & Employee Benefits
This course covers the considerations involved in preparing for those important retirement years. There are both qualitative (i.e. retirement age decisions, retirement income management) and quantitative (i.e. calculating retirement needs and plan limits) aspects to this planning process.

FPCC 441 Financial Plan Development & Capstone
This course provides an overview of all areas in the financial planning process, data gathering, approaches to financial planning, analysis of financial statements, and client presentation
Students are required to complete the six pre-requisite courses with a ‘C’ or better before enrolling in the Capstone course. The pre-requisite courses are: 435, 436, 437, 438, 439, and 440.
