Overview of Events for Students

9:00AM – NOON | Career Fair Session

If you are seeking an internship or full-time position for wealth management, financial planning, financial analyst, or financial advising, then this will be the best opportunity for you to connect with companies looking to hire. We have a wide range of companies participating this year, so be sure to check out the list below and do your research ahead of time.

The 9:00–10:00 AM hour is reserved for students who are currently enrolled in financial planning courses, active in the Financial Planning Student Association, and/or currently enrolled in the Financial Planning minor and major. All majors and all classifications are invited to attend from 10:00 AM – Noon.

Noon – 1:00 PM | Awards Luncheon (limited ticketed event)

Attendees who register for the lunch are invited to network with industry professionals and event sponsors before we move into the afternoon events. This is a ticketed event, so if you wish to join us for lunch, please register for Option 2 below.

1:00 – 2:00 PM | Student Competition: Elevator Pitch

The Elevator Pitch Competition has become a signature part of our conference, giving students the chance to refine their presentation skills through personalized coaching and feedback from faculty and industry professionals. Students apply in advance, complete a series of coaching sessions, and present their pitch to a panel of industry professionals for a chance to earn scholarship awards.

2:00 – 3:00 PM | Student Competition: Financial Plan Presentation

The Student Plan Presentation Competition gives selected students the chance to showcase their financial planning knowledge in front of industry professionals. Students are selected through an application process then work closely with faculty and industry mentors to refine their financial plans and presentation skills. Participants receive Capstone course credit, gain valuable feedback from professionals, and compete for scholarship awards.

3:30 – 4:30 PM | TEDx Style Talks

A long-time crowd favorite, this session features a blend of recent former students, seasoned industry professionals, and industry experts who share insightful messages with our audience.

4:30 – 5:30 PM | Networking & Welcome Reception (ticketed event)

Join us for a lively social hour designed for students to meet one another, connect with event sponsors, and start building your professional network. Light hors d’oeuvres will be served before we transition into the evening events.

6:00 – 8:00 PM | Student Recognition & Awards Banquet (Registration required, limited ticketed event)

Help us close out the day in style with a formal banquet celebrating the success of our students and alumni. Enjoy a plated dinner while networking with industry professionals and program supporters. Scholarships will be awarded, and outstanding former students will be recognized for their achievements. Tickets are required, so don’t miss the chance to be part of this special evening—register through Option 2 below.
