How to register for Spring 2026 Courses:
We are currently migrating to a new registration system for Spring 2026. More instructions will be shared once the new system goes live on November 5.
The course registration system will automatically place you into the course, but you will not see content until the first day of class. The username and password selected during the course registration process will be the same credentials you use to access the course.
Course Access
You will access the course through https://tamu.instructure.com. Content will be made available to you on the first day of class.
Withdrawal & Refund Schedule
- On or before January 18: 90%
- After January 18 and on/before February 15: 60%
- After February 15 and on/before March 22: 30%
- After March 22: No refund
To initiate the withdrawal process, please contact us directly via email – financialplanning@tamu.edu. The system does not automatically process refunds, nor does it notify us when you withdraw from a course. Refunds can only be issued manually through our office.
Textbook List
The Spring 2026 textbook list will be available for download soon. We are verifying editions with the publisher and the course instructors.

FPCC 435 Financial Planning Fundamentals
This course provides a comprehensive overview of financial planning from a professional perspective. Topics covered include financial analysis, budgeting, credit management, time value of money, investment strategies, income taxes, risk management, retirement, and estate planning.

FPCC 436 Insurance & Risk Management
This course equips students with the knowledge and tools needed to evaluate personal and business risk exposure and recommend appropriate insurance solutions. Students will learn how to conduct an insurance needs analysis for clients and evaluate insurance contracts for life, disability, long-term care, and health insurance.

FPCC 439 Retirement Planning & Employee Benefits
This course covers the considerations involved in preparing for those important retirement years. There are both qualitative (i.e. retirement age decisions, retirement income management) and quantitative (i.e. calculating retirement needs and plan limits) aspects to this planning process.

FPCC 440 Estate Planning
This course provides a comprehensive overview of the estate planning process and its essential role in holistic financial planning. Students will learn how to evaluate a client’s estate planning needs and apply advanced strategies to preserve wealth, manage tax exposure, and ensure efficient transfer of assets across generations.

FPCC 441 Financial Plan Development & Capstone
This course provides an overview of all areas in the financial planning process, data gathering, approaches to financial planning, analysis of financial statements, and client presentation
Students are required to complete the six pre-requisite courses with a ‘C’ or better before enrolling in the Capstone course. The pre-requisite courses are: 435, 436, 437, 438, 439, and 440.
